Work
The plants, the light, the people and their ways, the wear and tear of the urban landscape — I capture them all in watercolour, weaving myself into a web of small, joyful celebrations of life.
My paintings make the ephemeral last, make the mundane grandiose, turn bunkers into romanticised antique ruins, graffiti into frescoes, children into mythical heroes and heroines. The world I wish into being is quiet and alive, contemplative and wondering.
Drawing from old masters while challenging their worldviews, I dance on the edge of modernity, refusing to quite give up on the patience of the hand and the surety of the eye. My art carries the craft and comfort of tradition into a modern life that is ours to slow down.
